Demonstration and competitive jump rope team
Purpose: The Lincoln lions are a competition/demonstration jump rope team that performs and competes at local, regional and national events.
History: The Lincoln lions jump rope team of Manville, R.I. was founded in 1988 as an after school club. Mr. Byron Kinniburgh who was the Phys ed. Teacher at Northern Lincoln Elementary school became the coach of the team when they started jumping for “Jump Rope for heart”. Practices were held after school and the students ages ranged from 6-18, and grades K-12. Our jumpers learn routines from other jump rope organizations and camps. Some students even choreograph their own routines.
The team has grown over the past 18 years to its current level of 25 jumpers.
Fundraising: The Lincoln lions rely on fund raising as our primary financial support. We hold several fundraisers every year. Please check out our fundraisers and help support our team.
Thank you
